Have you ever woke up with sleep paralysis or felt vibrations in your ear upon waking up? Does the idea of astral projection interest you or have you had experience with the astral plane? Have you ever experienced the feeling of coming out your body? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then watch this to hear my opinions based on my experiences with all these third-eye, inner ear, pineal gland phenomenons.

What Is Sleep Paralysis?

Sleep paralysis is a feeling of being conscious but unable to move. It occurs when a person passes between stages of wakefulness and sleep. During these transitions, you may be unable to move or speak for a few seconds up to a few minutes. Some people may also feel pressure or a sense of choking. Sleep paralysis may accompany other sleep disorders such as narcolepsy. Narcolepsy is an overpowering need to sleep caused by a problem with the brain’s ability to regulate sleep.

When Does Sleep Paralysis Usually Occur?

Sleep paralysis usually occurs at one of two times. If it occurs while you are falling asleep, it’s called hypnagogic or predormital sleep paralysis. If it happens as you are waking up, it’s called hypnopompic or postdormital sleep paralysis.

What Happens With Hypnagogic Sleep Paralysis?

As you fall asleep, your body slowly relaxes. Usually you become less aware, so you do not notice the change. However, if you remain or become aware while falling asleep, you may notice that you cannot move or speak.

What Happens With Hypnopompic Sleep Paralysis?

During sleep, your body alternates between REM (rapid eye movement) and NREM (non-rapid eye movement) sleep. One cycle of REM and NREM sleep lasts about 90 minutes. NREM sleep occurs first and takes up to 75% of your overall sleep time. During NREM sleep, your body relaxes and restores itself. At the end of NREM, your sleep shifts to REM. Your eyes move quickly and dreams occur, but the rest of your body remains very relaxed. Your muscles are “turned off” during REM sleep. If you become aware before the REM cycle has finished, you may notice that you cannot move or speak.

What is Astral Projection?

Astral projection (or astral travel) is a term used in esotericism to describe a willful out-of-body experience (OBE), a supposed form of telepathy, that assumes the existence of a soul or consciousness called an “astral body” that is separate from the physical body and capable of travelling outside of it throughout the universe.

The idea of astral travel is rooted in esotericism and occultism, and was promoted by 19th century Theosophists—philosophers who explored the mystical and preternatural origins of the natural world It is sometimes reported in association with dreams, and forms of meditation. Some individuals have reported perceptions similar to descriptions of astral projection that were induced through various hallucinogenic and hypnotic means (including self-hypnosis). There is no scientific evidence that there is a consciousness or soul which is separate from normal neural activity or that one can consciously leave the body and make observations. Claims of scientific evidence of astral projection are pseudoscientific.

I am apart of this “gift” I don’t see it as that. It scares the living hell out of me. When you started talking about the “vibration” in your head. You didn’t even have to explain..you can’t explain. It almost feels like your soul is trying to leave your brain..somehow. But it feels peaceful. I wake up paralyzed. I either have a choice to stay calm and breathe, wiggle my toes and fingers till my body reconnects with my brain, or I let go. Sometimes it feels like I’m being sucked into the air going 100 miles..I can feel the temperature change. I hear the wind. Like it sounds when you drive your car with the windows down. The crazy thing is. My body doesn’t always feel it’s same shape or form. Sometimes I feel like a ball or an orb. Sometimes I’m spinning in different directions really fast uncontrollably. I’ve had other experiences where I’ve climbed out of my body up the bedroom wall through my ceiling into darkness. I have full control to leave this “place” I never let it happen for long. I’m terrified it will lead somewhere I can’t get back from. Another life..maybe even death?? I always think about the movie Insidious. So so so scary. THIS IS THE TRIPPY PART. The most recent was not even 2 weeks ago. I let go. I went into a dark place. For some reason I don’t know why I felt like it was a garage. I heard a high pitch alarm go off. Out of panic I became aware. “Back to my body” if you will say. Paralyzed and aware… Is it possible I projected far enough and somehow ended up into somebody’s home?? I keep this to myself because..how can it sound real to anybody who has not experienced this themselves.

My sleep paralysis always involves some entity I can't see, but I can feel its presence and hear its voice. The latest sleep paralysis happened last November after I fell asleep watching a reiki evil eye cleanse plucking video. As I entered sleep paralysis, I knew right away someone was watching me in the dark but I can't see them. I just felt a massive hand pressing down on my forehead as if to bury me in my bed. I wasn't panicking but I fought it in my thoughts. I was screaming for Archangels to come help me, but the entity just kept pushing down my forehead. After a few seconds of silent screams, I was out of my body floating upwards. That was the first time I have ever experienced OBE (Out of Body Experience). It felt so peaceful but my brain kept telling me to float down to my body, in case an angry spirit wants to occupy my body to avenge his/her death lmao. I got back safe and woke up normally.. The other sleep paralysis I had was weird. I saw 2 grey aliens trying to subdue me by poking me with a stick. I was standing up but my hands and feet were tied to metal posts. (I felt like a spy about to be tortured.) I saw the grey aliens panicked when I started to scream at them, "I'm stronger than you!" This probably went on for a few seconds. Then the dungeon scene dissolved and I was back in my bedroom. Weird. I don't know what to call that experience. I still wonder if I was abducted or something. I remember feeling rage at the greys so clearly. This also happened after watching reiki energetic cleansing videos.

I just had one not fun , don’t say you miss it. I have obe’s every time. Can’t say how long it lasted. I usually measure time by how many times I get out of my body, this time was three I think. I run like hell. This time I was lucky enough to fly but didn’t leave I watched my house and the demons inside. I leave my body because well I can feel things on my face and skin, hear voices and I don’t like that. I know I’m dreaming because the lights never go on when I hit the switch. I usually don’t sleep with the door closed but I did tonight so getting it open in obe was a bitch.

It started when I was a teen living at home. I would count how many times I got to almost my parents room and realizing my body didn’t come with me. Snd getting snapped back in and running again. Sometimes I would call for my sister but what came looked like my sister but wasn’t her. Shape shifting demons who would taunt me. I’m 47 and I’ve started having them again. On and off throughout the years

Do you get a strong euphoric feeling in ur head right before it happens?

  9. Hell Hero

I had this sort of experience yesterday or I would say during my sleep paralysis I knew I can't move my body but I tried very hard, tried to raise my hand fully but somehow my hand always stick to the bed and I feel like my body looking at the room from some sort of high position (vertically)my room was looked weird kind… I felt like locked I couldn't able to wake up from bed even I tried to raise my head upward but still i was stuck.. my body feels weighting after that I scream and woke from sleep paralysis it was kind of weird….

  10. Hello Marshall

I started having sleep paralysis 5-6 months ago, and I've had them several times. Mostly it's not so creepy, but I always have a feeling like I'm not alone. I don't know what triggered them to start. I feel like I've begun to have them late compared to people as you, who've had it their whole lives. Mostly I just wake up and can't move, but I just keep calm, and wait for it to go away, and slowly tries to move my fingers. But I also woke up in chock one time, where I felt hands from behind strangling me, and I also saw a demon face in blue neon colors lighting up, and there was a high pitched "beep" sound (like those machines in hospitals that says "BEEEP" when your heart stops beating. Anyways, I really want it to go away. I'm always frightened to go back to sleep after each episode. But if I don't know what caused them to start, how can I stop it?
I hope you'll see this, and maybe give me some advices!
Also, it's just weird that totally different people can experience the same visions and hear the same sounds, when we have totally different lives, right?

I had a dream it scars me just thinking about it but I woke up and a dark place no sound nothing I could see lights the go in the the distance I was in the middle it looked like street lights but I was the same level and so I look now and seen nothing but darkness I now realize I only have eyes and no body I look back and can see a small hole into my room and I can see my self sleeping. While all of this is happening I feel completely compelled to follow the lights it's so powerful I begin to wonder if it's within me or something attracting me that's when I look behind me and see my self sleeping but more than that I felt connected to myself and as soon as I felt this I woke up. I don't remember my dreams I had really bad ones that really affected me. I've woke up and not been able to move 5 times and I sleep on my belly and I feel like something really bad is going to happen and I can't defend my self feel like my life is in danger and I'm completely powerless to confront the monster in the room

I always felt like my sleep paralysis was an ability.. but because of experiences paranormal like… I am scared to even try to explore my astral projection because I don’t fully understand it.. I don’t want to explore and run across something or the wrong thing happens.. I believe in that state of mind you’re in a multi dimension and other entities can be present.. the question I don’t know if they are powerful and stronger than you wen in that state of mind.. or is it your dreams merging wit your consciousness because your in a state where your mind is woke and your body is sleep… idk but I have dem on a regular and I astral projected once but I am scared to try again and always close my eyes and try to avoid it

My first experience was probably when I was about 3-4 years old where I would feel like I was watching everything from the outside and fell like people were playing a game by just watching me life life . Then as a kid i don't really remember other out of body occurrences, just nightmares and sometimes semi hallucinations when half asleep about monsters or aliens but this was most likely related to horror movies and regular stuff. however as a teenager I started to have sleep paralysis as I was paralyzed in bed and it was basically always the same demon trying to choke me by getting on top of my chess and trying to end me. These demons would speak a language i didn't understand that seems like "tongue" language.i have got other experiences where a female demon would have sex with me when i was paralyzed. I always tried to pray to god when this happened to get out of it but sometimes it would take a little while. I had researched online back then and read about the diet so I had stopped eating at night or before bed to help it . For a few years I stopped having sleep paralysis but now I am 34 and i don't get the demon trying to choke me anymore but I do get OBE where I can go through my apartment and all that , i usually wake up really drained after also . These obe are different from the paralysis I had before but still feels weird .

Four years late, but in my early 20’s I could induce it every night by propping myself yo on my headboard. Still works like 1/2 the time.

I'm a psychology major and I learned about sleep paralysis, in which your mind wakes up but your body is still paralyzed from your sleep state. It typically happens in the morning or when you are first trying to fall asleep. the hallucinations that you see are because (what I like to call) the dream chemical is still in your brain because your body is still physically asleep. however something I have not heard or found an answer for is how one time I was able to barely crawl out of my body and across the room only to wake up in my bed. I've been getting sleep paralysis for years usually when I have a lack of sleep or desperately tired. my first was when I had a kidney infection and I had to stay home when I was 12, I woke up I couldn't move I tried calling out for my mom but my voice didn't work it sounded like only my breath was coming out, the door starting slowly opening and I thought "oh thank god my mom is going to find me" but no one was there, I got so scared I started saying the lords prayer in my head and it worked! only to realize now that the only reason it worked was because it calmed my mind and body down allowing it to wake up. from then on I got sleep paralysis every once and awhile and I just tried to move each muscle one at a time to wake up, my fingers, then my hands, and then finally move enough to wake up. however one time I wasn't waking up I just started to barely move my body, it took me everything to try and move every muscle and I wasn't waking up. then I could see hands go underneath the covers (one of my worst fears) still in sleep paralysis I freaked out and rolled out of the bed hitting my head on the end table and onto the floor. everything was so real as if I were awake the smell of the room, the dog hair in the carpet, all of the details and little lights in my room. I was still scared shitless so I started pulling myself across the floor I didn't bother looking back. as soon as I got close to the door I woke up in my bed. the weird part is my head still hurt from hitting it on the end table.

I have the same case as you and i really suffered of sleep paralysis and now i developed narcolepsy and it affects my life so much i am 29yeas old and i wake up screaming sometimes because i feel electric shock while I'm paralysed and i experience out of body state almost every day, i tried to control this with meds but the side effects of meds is worse so i try to live with this for the rest of my life the paralysis and visions and also OBE and even pain almost every day

  17. Mary crosby

I'v had sleep paralysis for about 20 years i had night terrors at a very young age. I was 4 or 5 having nightmares. How does a 5 year old dream about death violence. And I have not been around violence. I'v never had out body experience. I have nightmares every night. I have learned a method to know i was dreaming so when I was in my nightmare i would tell myself I'm only dreaming. I shook my head left to right over and over and I woke up. .and I learned how to fast forward rewind pause. So I could not have to see the scary stuff.

  18. FAY SMITH

I Googled this because I have the same experiences. I used to see the green diomond shapes on my wall as a kid and feel my bed spin. I always used to struggle out of it. It was only 4 years ago it came back and I allowed it to happen only after being reassured by a spiritual medium that I was safe to let go. I can stop it happening. If I rise my vibration it seems to happen again. It was very scary at first. I'd get the vibrations in my head too that you speak off. I learned how to control my dreams kinda. Still practicing but not sure where it'll lead as I have no teacher. It's a bit like what I would imagine dying to be… Look at coma dreams.. I always go in with feelings of trust not fear. I think fear can create bad images.. I have been able to manifest my nan and grandad in a dream but couldn't see thair faces properly. I could kind of control it but can't control where I end up. Also I will see random objects appear in my room.. One night it was a checkered baby bag just floating. Another time a pair of trainers.. Odd.. I've also heard music playing. And metal pinging noises. I've not seen anything scary though. It's exiting when it happens as I never know what's going to happen or where I'll end up. What happens recently is I'll get the sensation let it wash over me then nothing!.. Or maybe I think nothing has happened. I've also had false awakenings. At one point I couldn't tell if I was awake or dreaming. Very odd.

I go into the back spinning place. My fear of the whole thing makes me want to pull out of there. The spinning is scary, I can't see any thing but black and I'm afraid of the demon things to start with. When I start to spin in blackness I pull back and can feel my body trying extremely hard to move. I literally feel like I'm tensioned with invisible rubber bands. Sometimes I completely pull out. Other times a go to pull out and stop. When I allow paralysis strange things happen. I usually come out terrified or right after declaring I am not afraid in my mind.
I'm accidentally doing it while I'm asleep. I have vague memories from last night where I was talking with someone in the black spinning place. He wanted me to relax. When I agreed i felt my body begin to move in a strange way. It was as though he was trying to use my body. I pulled back and said "not if your going to use my body". As this happened I became more comncious and realised exactly what I was doing. Then I relaxed into it again as if drifting back into real sleep. Weird
