This was a difficult run for me. Parking was a nightmare situation. We parked about a mile away from the start line, so I had to rush to packet pickup and then back to the car. Due to the lack of time, I had to run, so before the race, I actually ran a couple miles. I didn’t have time to stretch, and I also had brand new shoes that I hadn’t worn in. The temperature was nice, around 80°, but the humidity was incredibly thick, which made it difficult to breath. My feet and shins were cramping about a mile in due to my brand-new shoes. It was one of the worst race experiences I’ve had to date, but the wine and chocolate at the end was great.
